Northern Colorado has been my home for 53 years. Nearly 4 years ago, my wife and I moved to Severance so our horses could live where we live along with our “senior” basset hound and now our newly adopted rescue hound. Our adult children and four grandchildren love visiting our community. Severance is truly a wonderful community with great people and a quality of life worth fighting for.
Not long after making Severance our home, I responded to a post card asking for volunteers to sit on the Planning Commission. I am currently the Chair of the Planning Commission. Planning issues will continue to be vital to our Town’s future, such as attracting and establishing a commercial tax base to support our desired infrastructure, recreation, services and public safety. I am well equipped to work with new businesses.
I am currently the Chair of the Home Rule Charter Commission. Our commission, under my leadership, created and submitted a proposed home rule charter months ahead of schedule and under budget. The voters of Severance get the final approval on September 7 in a special election along with your opportunity to vote for me for mayor!
We need well planned, responsible growth managed and guided by leaders with proven leadership skills. We need experience and these skills now, today. While change is inevitable, I believe we should maintain our agricultural and rural heritage. This will require real vision and real leadership. All property rights should be considered equally and fairly. Strong leadership, Not dictatorship.
I have over 30 years of real life experience in owning and operating small businesses. A small business owner is faced with balancing employee’s needs and desires, customer expectations, and making sure there is some money left over to feed their own family every day. My wife and I currently own a document storage and secure shredding company. Additionally, I am a financial professional helping small businesses and families establish and meet financial goals. Along the way I have set aside time and served on well over a dozen community and non-profit committees, boards and commissions. I believe a successful community is an involved community and I lead by example.
Town of Severance, I ask for your vote. I will work humbly and efficiently for you and your family. I will lead our community into the future with small town values, a big heart and smart mind.
Values and Beliefs:
This Sums It Up Pretty Well
“My goals for Severance are really to maintain what we have! I think we have a great community and great people. Assuring responsible growth is key. Establish and maintain quality relationships with neighboring communities. Safe roads and intersections. Encourage involvement in decisions from the whole community. Assure everyone is heard and has a voice. Maintain our agriculture heritage. Small town values with a big heart and smart mind.”
